Western Sydney to host Westfield Matildas friendly match against Chile

Major sporting events play a vital role in attracting visitors to NSW. Western Sydney's position as a tourism destination and major events location has been strengthened since the new world-class Bankwest Stadium opened earlier this year.

The NSW Government recently announced a bid for to host the FIFA Women's World Cup in 2023, to continue its support of major events that showcase talent and inspire the next generation of sporting stars.

Minister for Sport John Sidoti said: "Supporting this international friendly between the Westfield Matildas and Chile aligns with the NSW Government's broader vision of helping to grow and promote women's sport."
