Whalan Man Charged for Possessing Child Abuse Material

A man has been charged after child abuse material was allegedly found during a search of a home in Sydney's west yesterday.

About 6.30pm on Tuesday (08 August 2023), officers attached to Mount Druitt Police Area Command attended a home on Luxford Road, Whalan, for a routine check of the premises.

A mobile phone was seized which underwent digital forensic analysis, with police locating several indecent images allegedly stored on the phone.

A 38-year-old man was later arrested at the scene and taken to Mt Druitt Police Station where he was charged with possess child abuse material.

He's been refused bail to appear at Mt Druitt Local Court today (Wednesday 09 August 2023).
