The Fathering Project

A national survey of fathers and father figures conducted by leading not-for-profit The Fathering Project, has provided an important snapshot of the challenges involved with being a Dad.

Key survey findings included:

  • Only 45% of all respondents spent one-on-one time with their kids every day.
  • 75% agreed that their role as a father was central to their identity.
  • 45% felt they weren't doing enough for their children.
  • 59% were not satisfied with the amount of time they were able to dedicate to their kids.
  • 71% were the main financial contributor to the household, with 60% saying this causes stress on their role as a father.
