This year to celebrate Valentine’s Day, we asked our junior members why they love volunteering and being part of CFA.
Ballarat Junior Fire Brigade got involved with sharing their love for the junior program.
One junior member said she loves juniors because it’s a fun and safe way to learn about what the CFA does.
“The best thing I’ve learnt in juniors is what to do if there is a fire and how to keep people safe.”
Another member said they love juniors because they have been able to make new friends.
“My favourite memory of juniors is going on camp to Anglesea,” he said. “Being part of juniors has taught me how to read maps and first aid.”
Another member mentioned how being in juniors was a unique experience.
“My favourite memory was walking into juniors for the first time, now I’ve learnt so much including how to work a pumper.”
Many members agreed that being part of juniors meant being part of a team.
“We work as a team learning lifesaving skills like how to use radios and maps,” One member said. “We learn and solve problems together.”
Thanks to all our junior members at the Ballarat Junior brigade who were involved with sharing the love.
