Wilful Damage Charges At Clermont

Police have charged a man following a wilful damage incident in Clermont this morning, April 17.

Police will allege a 41-year-old Clermont man attended Clermont Police Station around 3.45am, and has driven a vehicle into a security gate located at the front of the station, impacting a stationary police vehicle in the process.

It will be further alleged the man caused damage to the interior of the station.

No entry or access to police equipment was gained.

No one was injured in the incident.

Detectives from Moranbah Criminal Investigation Branch have charged the 41-year-old man with three counts of wilful damage of police property and one count each of enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence, and endangering particular property by fire.

He is due to appear in Emerald Magistrates Court on April 19.

Investigations are continuing.
