Will Duigan Back Out of Accepted Energy Debate? Feb 26, 2024

Tas Labor

I am delighted to accept Clean Energy Tasmania's offer of a debate on the key issues facing the state's renewable energy sector.

Labor strongly believes Tasmanians should pay a Tasmanian price for Tasmanian power, and we'll take any opportunity to outline how we'll make sure this happens now and into the future under our Tasmania First energy approach.

In contrast, after 10 years of the Liberals, Tasmania is in an energy crisis, with business and industry begging for support, and Tasmanian power bills have never been higher.

In his short tenure in the energy portfolio, Nick Duigan hasn't convinced many that he's up to the task, even claiming that a cap on power prices would make prices go up.

Now it's over to Mr Duigan - will he take this opportunity to show Tasmanians he knows what he's talking about? Or will he chicken out?
