A Lidcombe entrepreneur in his 30s is still in disbelief after winning a staggering share of the $40M jackpot in last night's Oz Lotto draw.
The Sydney man was one of the three national division one winners in the Oz Lotto draw 1580, held on Tuesday 28 May 2024, where each winner took home $13,333,333.34.
Playing down his newfound wealth of $13.3 million, the Lidcombe local has vowed to keep working and invest some of his multi-million-dollar prize into his growing business.
“Wow! Wow! Wow!” the winning man exclaimed when a lotto official reached out to him immediately after last night’s draw.
“Thank you so much! This is life-changing! I don’t know what to say. I’m scratching my head.
“I was just having dinner when I got your text saying to check my ticket. I thought it was a scam but I checked my ticket just in case.
“I looked on the app and I saw all this confetti! I thought I’d won $13 at first.
“This is great. Really awesome.
“I’m a regular Oz Lotto player, but this is something else, it’s something very very special.
“I’m going to keep working. I don’t plan on retiring at all. I’m going to put some of the prize into my business and I’m going to help my family. It’s going to be life-changing!
“This is the best call I’ve ever had!
“I’m going to have a bottle of champagne to celebrate!
“I don’t think I’ll be able to sleep tonight!”
The winning numbers in Oz Lotto draw 1580 on Tuesday 28 May 2024 were 10, 15, 29, 31, 42, 5 and 13, while the supplementary numbers were 17, 40 and 39.
