Ararat Rural City Council is inviting Willaura residents to participate in an important community questionnaire focused on improving emergency management preparedness.
Over the past 12 months, Ararat Rural City Council in conjunction with The Six C's have delivered a series of emergency planning sessions across the municipality to better equip the community in decision-making during and after an emergency.
Willaura's fire recovery process has delayed their workshop, and Council is now re-visiting the needs of Willaura. This questionnaire will tell us your thoughts and ideas around emergency preparedness, both from a personal and community perspective.
Council understands the importance of seeking local feedback to enhance decision-making before, during, and after emergencies such as fires, floods, or biosecurity events. The questionnaire welcomes thoughts on past experiences, areas for improvement, expectations for community resilience, and personal preparedness.
Council is committed to ensuring everyone has a voice in shaping future emergency management strategies. Willaura's recent recovery from fires highlights the need for ongoing discussion and reflection. Community input will guide the development of better resources, clearer information channels, and accessible planning tools.
"As a Council, we genuinely believe in working together with our communities to deliver practical, meaningful change. Every response matters, and together, we can build more robust frameworks for emergency preparedness. I encourage all Willaura residents to share their insights," Ararat Rural City Council CEO Dr Tim Harrison, Chief Executive Officer, said.
Residents are also invited to join upcoming information sessions and sign up for updates to remain informed about community emergency management initiatives.
