New Melton Waves window art installed by Melton City Council aims to help more people enjoy the indoor pools.

City of Melton Mayor Cr Goran Kesic said the Melton Waves Inclusion Project aimed to welcome people from diverse backgrounds while providing a privacy screen between pool users and pedestrians or road traffic.

The subtle shapes and bright colours wrap around the exterior windows of Melton Waves like a frosted watermark, allowing pool users to look outside while screening them from passers-by.

"Council consulted the community and we found that a perceived lack of privacy could be preventing some people from enjoying the Melton Waves pools," Cr Kesic said.

"We wanted to provide opportunities for people from all backgrounds to swim in a safe, inclusive and friendly environment.

"Facilities like this enrich the lives of our residents, improve health and wellbeing, and help make our city a wonderful place to live, work and raise a family."
