Celebrate Library and Information Week – 28 July to 3 August
Explore the many services, collections, programs and events on offer at our libraries during Library and Information Week, where we shine a light on how libraries actively work to support literacy and reading in the community and highlight this year's theme: To read or not to read: literacy matters. There'll be children's activities, author talks, local history tours, tech help and more.
Northbrook and the Stonnington History Centre – 26 July
As part of Open House Melbourne 2025, enjoy a self-guided tour of the building and archive rooms and view a selection of items in Stonnington's local history collection.
Warm Winter Read program – until 31 August
Make reading part of your winter routine with the state-wide program. Whether you're listening to an audiobook, browsing a magazine or reading a book, log and share what you're reading for the chance to win some great bookish prizes! Explore staff picks and reading recommendations by authors you know and love. Suitable for readers aged 16+ years.
What's Your Story? Writing Competition – until 31 July
We're celebrating creativity and storytelling within our community and looking for original and compelling short stories, poetry and creative writing. Entry is free and open to emerging writers within Stonnington and Victoria.
Design a Bookmark competition – 1 to 31 August
Design your own bookmark for our libraries based on the theme: Book an Adventure. Winning designers are in the running for wonderful prizes and winning designs will be made into bookmarks and available for free from the libraries.
