Dean Winter is getting pretty desperate when he needs the highest taxing Treasurer in Australia's history to help him launch his campaign.
No wonder Mr Winter's poll numbers are in freefall.
Rather than fly in to trash talk Tassie, perhaps the Federal Treasurer might like to explain why he keeps dudding Tasmania on GST.
Or why he's just imposed a Ute Tax that will increase the price of a Ford Ranger by $14,000.
Or why he's trying to slug Tassie farmers with a Farmers Tax that will take a piece of the family farm year after year.
Mr Winter is set to follow the Federal playbook of hiking up taxes.
It's hardly surprising Mr Winter needs his mates in Canberra to try to dig himself out of the hole he created by forcing this election.
After all, the mainland operatives still run the Tasmanian branch of the Labor Party.
Labor: Just like last time, they'll make you pay.
