In January 2022, NIST's Crypto Publication Review Board initiated a review process for NIST Special Publication (SP) 800-106, Randomized Hashing for Digital Signatures (2009).
On October 18, 2022, NIST proposed to withdraw SP 800-106-and included a rationale for doing so-and called for comments on that decision proposal. During the comment period that ended November 18, 2022, NIST received no public comments.
Therefore, NIST is withdrawing SP 800-106, effective immediately.
