Witness appeal for attempted carjacking in Carlton

Police are appealing for witnesses after an attempted aggravated carjacking in Carlton early this morning.

Investigators were told the victim, who is a food delivery driver, was attending an address on Canning Street about 1.50am when he was approached by a male suspect and threatened with a knife.

It is believed the suspect attempted to steal the victim's motorised scooter before he fled on foot empty handed after being disturbed by an approaching cyclist.

The victim was not injured in the incident.

The suspect is perceived to be African in appearance, aged in his twenties, 183cm tall, of slim build and was wearing black pants and a black hoodie.
