Witness appeal for Kyneton hit-run

Kyneton police are continuing to appeal for witnesses after a man was found seriously injured in Kyneton over the Easter long weekend.

Emergency services were called after witnesses heard two loud thuds before discovering the man on Sturt Street shortly after 2am on Saturday 16 April.

The 33-year-old Kyneton man was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.

He continues to recover in hospital.

Investigators believe the man was hit by a vehicle, which failed to stop at the scene.

Police would like to speak to anyone who drove through the area around that time and may have seen a pedestrian or anything suspicious.

Due to the long weekend and increased visitors in the area, police are investigating if the driver was possibly from another area of Victoria.

Anyone with information or dashcam footage is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or make a report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.auExternal Link.
