Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a pedestrian was hit by an ambulance in Surry Hills this morning.
About 12.15am (Sunday 9 October 2022), police were called to Elizabeth Street, following reports an ambulance was travelling south when it collided with a pedestrian near the intersection of Devonshire Street.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated a 32-year-old man at the scene for serious head injuries before he was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a critical condition.
The man remains in hospital in a critical, but stable condition.
Officers attached to Surry Hills Police Area Command established a crime scene and have commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Initial inquiries have led police to believe the NSW Ambulance crew was responding to an urgent call for assistance.
