Witnesses sought following serious crash in Smithfield

Police are appealing for information following a serious crash at Smithfield yesterday, NSW Police say.

Shortly after 10.30am (Tuesday 12 June 2018), a Honda Odyssey and a Yamaha motor cycle have collided on Victoria Street Smithfield.

The rider, a 40-year-old man, was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics for multiple fractures to his leg and was taken to Liverpool Hospital. He will undergo surgery today.

The driver of the Honda Odyssey, a 67-year-old man, was uninjured.

Officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist police.

Metropolitan Crash Investigations Unit officers have commenced investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash and are calling for any witnesses that haven’t yet spoken with police, to come forward.

Police would also like speak to the driver of a truck depicted in the image, who may be able to assist police with inquiries to contact Fairfield Police or Crime Stoppers.
