Woman arrested and drugs seized in Soldiers Hill

Detectives from Ballarat arrested a woman in Soldiers Hill yesterday and seized a commercial quantity of drugs as part of an ongoing investigation.

Criminal Investigation Unit detectives along with officers from the Division Response Unit executed a warrant at a Havelock Street property on Wednesday 13 September about 1pm.

A search uncovered a quantity of alleged 1, 4 Butanediol, believed to have been imported from China, an alleged stolen offroad trailer and annex and two reverse cycle air conditioning units still in boxes.

Enquiries have revealed the air conditioning units were allegedly stolen during a burglary in Castlemaine.

The 32-year-old woman has been charged with several offences including:

• traffick commercial quantity of 1,4 Butanediol

• possess prohibited weapon

• handle stolen goods (x2)

The Soldiers Hill woman was remanded in custody to appear before Ballarat Magistrates' Court today, Thursday 14 September.
