Woman assaulted and robbed in Toongabbie

Police are investigating after a woman was assaulted and robbed in Sydney’s west yesterday, NSW Police say.

Just before 8pm yesterday, a 34-year-old woman pulled up in the driveway of a townhouse complex on Metella Road, Toongabbie.

As the woman got out of her vehicle, she was approached by two men and assaulted. The men stole her handbag before fleeing.

The woman screamed and a friend came to her aid. The two got in the woman’s vehicle and went after the men.

After pulling up alongside a silver Toyota Corolla, one of the male occupants allegedly pointed a black firearm at the woman and her friend.

The Toyota Corolla drove off and was last seen travelling west on the M4 at Eastern Creek.

Officers from Blacktown Local Area Command attended and commenced an investigation.

As inquiries continue, any witnesses, or anyone with information is urged to contact police via Crime Stoppers.
