A woman has been assaulted during an aggravated break and enter in Auburn, NSW Police say.
About 9.50pm today, a 37-year-old woman was asleep in her apartment on Dartbrook Road, when she was awoken by an intruder.
The man assaulted the woman, punching her in the face and upper body before fleeing the scene.
She was taken to Westmead Hospital for treatment to head injuries and facial lacerations.
Police from Flemington Local Area Command are investigating the incident. A crime scene has been established which is being examined by specialist police.
No arrests have yet been made.
Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
