Woman charged after pedestrians hit in Pyrmont

A woman has been charged after two men were seriously injured when hit by a car at Pyrmont in earlier this year.

Emergency services were called to Murray Street shortly before 5pm on Tuesday 3 May 2016, after a Nissan Micra left the road and hit two pedestrians, NSW Police say.

A 29-year-old man, from Gordon, was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital suffering multiple fractures as well as head and internal injuries.


A second man, also aged 29, was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital where he was treated for serious leg injuries.

The Nissan Micra driver, a 71-year-old woman, was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital where she was treated for a chest injury and underwent mandatory testing.


Officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Following these investigations, the 71-year-old woman was served a court attendance notice yesterday, charged with negligent driving occasioning grievous bodily harm.


She is due to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on Wednesday 7 September 2016.
