Woman charged after pursuit and crash, NSW

A woman will face court today, charged following a pursuit and crash in Sydney's north yesterday.

Just after 1am (Saturday 19 January 2019), officers from Traffic & Highway Patrol Command attempted to stop a Ford Falcon on the M4 at Minchinbury.

The Ford failed to stop, and a pursuit was initiated, travelling west on the M4.

At the Roper Road offramp at Erskine Park, the Ford lost control and crashed over a safety barrier, rolling onto its side.

The driver and sole occupant, a 30-year-old woman, was arrested and taken to Westmead Hospital under police guard by Traffic & Highway Patrol Command officers for mandatory blood and urine tests, and treatment to minor injuries.

The woman was later released from hospital and taken to Parramatta Police Station.

She was charged by Traffic & Highway Patrol Command Officers with police pursuit – not stop – drive recklessly, drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous, drive motor vehicle during disqualification period, driver use mobile phone when not permitted, not stop at stop line at red light, and possess prohibited drug.

The Willmot woman was refused bail to appear in Parramatta Bail Court today (Sunday 20 January 2019).
