Woman charged as part of investigation into alleged armed robbery of cash-in-transit guards, NSW

A woman has been charged over the alleged supply of ice, and the possession of prohibited weapons and police uniforms, which have been seized during a Robbery and Serious Crime Squad investigation.

Detectives from the State Crime Command's Robbery and Serious Crime Squad established Strike Force Callagher to investigate an armed robbery on Thursday 5 April 2018.

Just after 11am, two armed guards were intercepted by a silver Volkswagen Golf as they exited their armoured truck for a delivery on Mackinder Street, Clemton Park. Two men, both allegedly armed with rifles, got out of the Golf and threatened the guards, demanding cash.

One of the men allegedly approached the guards, and unsuccessfully attempted to remove one of their firearms, before stealing the cash bags and returning to the Golf, which was then driven from the location at speed.

The guards were not physically injured during the incident.

Three men have since been charged over the alleged robbery. They remain before the court.

During the investigation, strike force detectives executed a number of search warrants, including one at a unit at Wentworth Point on 11 July 2018, where police seized two prohibited body armour vests, a replica pistol, almost 100g of methylamphetamine (ice), and numerous items of NSW Police Force, Australia Federal Police, and Corrective Services NSW uniforms.

Following further investigations, strike force detectives arrested a 34-year-old woman at a home at North Rocks about 6.30am today (Wednesday 16 January 2019).

The woman was charged with two counts of possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit, supply prohibited drug, not police officer/special constable wear etc police uniform, and wear/have in possession a correctional officer uniform.

She has been refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court later today.
