A woman has been charged in relation to the death of a girl in the Hunter Valley last year.
About 5.45am Wednesday 23 September 2015, police were called to a home on Redgum Circuit, Aberglasslyn, where they found a 12-year-old girl deceased.
A crime scene was established and detectives from Central Hunter Local Area Command commenced an investigation.
A 31-year-old man was arrested and charged with murder. He is currently before the courts, NSW Police say.
About 8.30am today, a 34-year-old woman was arrested by detectives and taken to Maitland Police Station where she was charged with manslaughter.
The woman was refused bail to appear at Maitland Local Court today.
