A 31-year-old George Town woman is in police custody and assisting with enquiries following an incident near a school in George Town this morning, Tasmania Police say.
Police allege the woman was in Agnes Street near Port Dalrymple School in a highly agitated state behaving in a disorderly manner. The school enacted their emergency response procedures.
A number of police units quickly responded to the incident and the woman was apprehended a short time later at a nearby residence. She has been detained to appear in an out-of-hours session at the Launceston Magistrates Court later today.
Police investigations are continuing.
