A woman will face Court after being charged with allegedly threatening members of the public with a knife at a shopping centre on the state's Central Coast yesterday.
About 5pm (Monday 16 February 2026), officers from Tuggerah Lakes Police District were called to the shopping centre on Goobarabah Avenue, Lake Haven, following reports that a woman was holding a knife and threatening members of the public.
On arrival, police were told the woman was allegedly waving the knife at people and threatening to stab them before she was disarmed and restrained by security and members of the community.
A 22-year-old man sustained an injury to his finger during the incident.
There were no other reports of injuries.
The 38-year-old woman was arrested and taken to Wyong Hospital for assessment.
Following her release from hospital, she was taken to Wyong Police Station where she was charged with three offences - affray, use knife in public place - cause person to fear for safety and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
The woman was refused bail to appear at Bail Division - Court 6 later today (Tuesday 17 February 2026).
