Woman Charged for Ramming Police Cars in Ipswich

Police have charged a second person after two police vehicles were allegedly rammed in West Ipswich on Monday, 3 November.

Around 11:20pm, police were called to an address on Brisbane Street after a stolen black Mitsubishi Lancer was observed in a car park.

When officers arrived on scene it is alleged the driver, a 36-year-old Gailes woman, attempted to flee, reversing into one of the police vehicles before accelerating and hitting a second police vehicle, hitting the front end of the vehicle and coming to a stop.

The woman and a male passenger, a 28-year-old East Brisbane man, were arrested and taken into custody.

It will be further alleged, the Mitsubishi was stolen from a Shailer Park address on Monday, 27 October and the vehicle was also bearing number plates stolen from a Black BMW hatchback on Monday, 6 October.

The 28-year-old East Brisbane man has been charged with one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

He is expected to appear in Ipswich Magistrates Court on 24 November
