A woman has been charged over multiple break and enters in the state's west.
In March 2025, officers attached to Chifley Police District commenced an investigation following reports of multiple businesses that had been broken into across Bathurst and Perthville areas.
- About 12.20am on Friday 7 March 2025, two unknown people allegedly broke into a storage facility on Esrom Street, West Bathurst and stole an inflatable castle and a tarpaulin before leaving the scene.
- Just after 11.30pm on Thursday 22 May 2025, unknown people gained entry into a licenced premises on Durham Street, Bathurst before stealing an amount of cash and keys before leaving the scene.
- About 10.40pm on Sunday 25 May 2025, two unknown people forced entry into a business on Mitre Street, West Bathurst, before leaving the scene with an amount of cash.
- About 11.30pm on Wednesday 28 May 2025, two unknown people broke into the same storage facility on Esrom Street, West Bathurst and stole approximately $5000 worth of household items.
- Just after 1.30am on Thursday 29 May 2025, two people forced entry into a post office on Vale Road, Perthville before stealing an amount of mail.
Police believe the total value of stolen cash and items is more than $7000 and it is alleged the incidents are linked.
Following intensive inquiries, on Friday 6 June 2025, police executed a search warrant at a home in Bathurst where they arrested a 34-year-old woman.
Police also seized a number of items including clothes, three knives, inflatable castle, and a post office stamp.
She was taken to Bathurst Police Station where she was charged with aggravated break and enter dwelling etc in company steal less than or equal to $60000 (five counts) and breach of bail.
She was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court tomorrow (Saturday 7 June 2025).
