Woman charged over $330,000 cannabis haul, NSW

A woman has been charged after police located nearly 100 cannabis plants at a home in Sydney’s south yesterday, NSW Police say.

Officers from the Redfern Regional Enforcement Squad formed Strike Force Grassy to investigate the enhanced indoor cultivation of cannabis.

Just after 8.30pm today, Strike Force officers raided a home on Morgan Street at Kingsgrove.

During the search, police allegedly located and seized 97 cannabis plants with an estimated potential street value of $333,000.

Police will allege four rooms in the house contained sophisticated hydroponic equipment.

A 47-year-old woman was arrested at the home and taken to St George Police Station where she was charged with cultivate prohibited plant (commercial quantity).

The woman was refused bail to appear at Sutherland Local Court tomorrow.
