Woman charged over wounding Surfers Paradise

A woman has been charged after a 33-year-old woman received a stab wound to her forearm at Surfers Paradise yesterday afternoon, Queensland Police say.

Around 4.30pm police were called after two women, who were known to each other, were involved in a disturbance at a Paradise Island unit.

During the disturbance it is alleged the woman was injured with a knife.

She was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A woman was detained by police near the scene.

A 41-year-old Surfers Paradise woman has been charged with wounding and enter dwelling with intent.

She is due to face Southport Magistrates Court today.
