Woman charged, police probe armed robbery in Wollongong

A woman has been charged, as inquiries continue following an armed robbery near Wollongong, NSW Police say.

About 7am (Friday 12 October 2018), police were told a man and a woman met at a home on Buckland Street, Fernhill.

When the man attempted to leave, he was allegedly stopped by the woman and two other men.

The trio allegedly demanded money, before stabbing the man to the head.

The 37-year-old man fled the scene, and notified officers from Wollongong Police District.

He was taken to Wollongong Hospital for treatment to injuries to his left ear.

Police attended the Fernhill home, established a crime scene, and arrested a 26-year-old woman.

She was charged with demand property by force in company to steal, possess prohibited drug, and contravene Apprehended Violence Order.

The woman was refused bail and will appear at Wollongong Local Court today (Saturday 13 October 2018).

As inquiries continue, anyone with information about the incident is urged to come forward.
