Woman Charged With Murder After Child Found Dead

A woman has been charged with murder after the body of a child was found inside a home on the state's Central Coast yesterday.

About 4.40pm (Saturday 4 July 2026), police attended a property in Wyong due to a concern for welfare after a 32-year-old woman had attended Wyong Police Station.

Officers attached to Tuggerah Lakes Police District arrived at the property and located the body of a child.

The child is yet to be formally identified; however, is believed to be a four-year-old boy.

The 32-year-old woman was arrested at Wyong Police Station.

A crime scene was established at the property and Tuggerah Lakes detectives – with assistance from State Crime Command's Homicide Squad – commenced an investigation into the incident.

Following inquiries, the woman was charged with murder (DV) today (Sunday 5 July 2026).

She was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 6 today.
