Woman Charged With Murder in Mount Druitt Death

A woman has been charged with murder by detectives investigating a suspicious death in Sydney's north-west last month.

Detectives attached to Mount Druitt Police Area Command – with assistance from State Crime Command's Homicide Squad – commenced Strike Force Vado to investigate the suspicious death of an 84-year-old woman found in her home on Comet Street, Melonba near Marsden Park, about 12.30pm on Saturday 4 October 2025.

During the investigation, strike force detectives received information – following a post mortem examination – that the 84-year-old had suffered significant injuries prior to her death.

Following extensive investigations, just before 3pm today (Thursday 13 November 2025), strike force detectives arrested a 50-year-old woman – known to the 84-year-old – on Comet Street, Melonba.

The 50-year-old was taken to Mount Druitt Police Station where she was charged with Murder (DV).

She was refused bail to appear before Mount Druitt Local Court tomorrow (Friday 14 November 2025).
