Detectives have charged a woman with murder following the death of a man in Sydney's south west last year.
About 8.20am on Sunday 27 October 2024, emergency services were called to Heindrich Avenue, Padstow, following reports of an assault.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated a 65-year-old man for serious facial and neck injuries, before being taken to Bankstown Hospital, where he remained in a serious condition.
Officers attached to Bankstown Police Area Command were told the man was allegedly assaulted by a woman known to him.
Following investigations, about 12.20pm the same day, a 37-year-old woman was arrested in Padstow and taken to Bankstown Police Station where she was charged with domestic violence and assault related offences.
She was refused bail to appear before Bankstown Local Court on Monday 28 October 2024 and remains before the court.
On Tuesday 10 December 2024, police were notifed the 65-year-old man had died in hospital.
A report was prepared for the information of the Coroner.
Following extensive inquiries by detectives, the woman was charged with murder (DV) at Burwood Local Court today (Wednesday 19 November 2025).
