Woman critical after four-car crash at Armidale, NSW

A woman remains in hospital in a critical condition after a four-vehicle crash near Armidale yesterday, NSW Police say.

The crash happened about 2.45pm (Wednesday 24 October 2018), when a Kia Rio, a Mazda2, a Ford Ranger dual cab and a Mitsubishi Pajero collided on the New England Highway, about 7km north of Armidale.

A 42-year-old woman from Guyra was trapped in the Rio for 30 minutes before being released.

She was initially treated at Armidale Hospital before being air-lifted to John Hunter Hospital where she is reported to be in a critical condition.

The driver of the Mazda, a woman also from Guyra, the driver of the ute, a 42-year-old man, and the female driver of the 4WD escaped injury and were taken to Armidale Hospital to be checked as a precaution and undergo mandatory testing.
