Investigations are underway after a woman was found critically injured in Lithgow today, NSW Police say.
About 12.30pm (Thursday 4 October 2018) emergency services were called to a unit on Clarice Street, Lithgow, following reports a woman has been assaulted.
Officers from Chifley Police District attended and found a woman suffering a serious neck injury.
She was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Lithgow Hospital in a critical condition.
A crime scene was established and detectives initiated an investigation.
Following inquiries, police arrested a man at the home. He was taken to Lithgow Police Station and is assisting police with inquiries.
The woman and man are believed to be known to each other.
