Woman critical, two injured after two-vehicle crash, NSW

Three people have been taken to hospital, one in a critical condition, following a two-vehicle crash in Macquarie Park overnight, NSW Police say.

About 12.40am (Friday 24 August 2018), emergency services were called to Lane Cove Road at Macquarie Park, after reports a Toyota Camry and a Honda Accord collided.

A female passenger of the Honda was ejected from the vehicle, and became trapped underneath the Honda.

Witnesses stopped and rendered assistance to the woman before lifting the vehicle from on top of her.

She was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before being taken Royal North Shore Hospital in a critical condition.

The male driver and his second female passenger were uninjured.

The driver of the Toyota and passenger, both male, were also taken to Royal North Shore Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers from Ryde Police Area Command established a crime scene, which will be examined by specialist police.

Crash Investigation Unit officers are at the scene and will investigate the circumstances leading up to the crash.

Traffic diversions are expected to be in place for several hours while investigators examine the scene. Monitor livetraffic.com for updates.
