Woman dies after boat capsizes at Moama

A woman has died after the boat she was in capsized in the state's south.

About 4pm today (Sunday 5 July 2020) emergency services were called the Murray River near Moama following reports a boat carrying five people had capsized after hitting a submerged tree.

One man, a woman and two children were rescued from the water, however a 40-year-old woman who was on board at the time could not be located.

Officers from Murray River Police District and members of the SES established a search.

About 5.15pm, the woman's body was located.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
