Woman dies after dog attack at Wilton

A woman has died in hospital after she was attacked by her own dog in Sydney's south west yesterday.

About 1.30pm (Thursday 16 May 2019), emergency services were called to a home on Hornby Street, Wilton, following reports of a dog attack.

On arrival, officers located a 74-year-old man and his 72-year-old wife suffering lacerations and bite marks.

Both were treated at the scene and taken to Liverpool Hospital where the condition of the woman deteriorated and she passed away.

The dog has been seized by Wollondilly Council Rangers.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
