Woman dies after serious multi-vehicle crash - Ermington

A woman has died following a serious multi-vehicle crash in Ermington overnight.

Shortly after 11.30pm (Friday 27 September 2019), emergency services were called to River Road, near Victoria Road, Ermington, after reports a Mitsubishi Triton ute, a Daihatsu, and a Mazda 3 have collided.

The female driver and sole occupant of the Mitsubishi Triton ute sustained minor injuries and was taken to Westmead Hospital for treatment.

The male driver of the Daihatsu, and his two female passengers sustained multiple injuries and were taken to Westmead Hospital. One of the female passengers has since passed away.

The male driver of the Mazda 3, and female passenger did not appear to sustain any injuries.

All drivers involved will undergo mandatory blood and urine testing.

Officers from Cumberland Police Area Command with assistance by officers from the Crash Investigation Unit will investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Victoria Road is currently closed in both directions while the scene is being examined.
