Woman dies after single-vehicle crash near Albury

A woman has died following a single-vehicle crash in the state's Murray River region earlier this month.

About 1.15am on Friday 19 November 2021, a vehicle was travelling on Buchhorn Street, Lavington, when it left the roadway and struck a tree.

A nearby resident rendered assistance, locating the driver – a 36-year-old woman – in the vehicle unconscious.

She was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before being taken to Albury Base Hospital where she was airlifted to the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne.

Officers attached to Murray River Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

The woman died in hospital yesterday (Monday 29 November 2021).

A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
