Woman dies after Stawell crash

A woman has died in hospital following a single-car crash in Stawell on 15 March.

It is understood the woman was travelling along Stawell-Avoca Road about 3.30pm when her vehicle left the road.

Police believe she tried to correct the vehicle but lost control again, with the car hitting a wire fence and then a tree.

The 79-year-old woman, who was the sole occupant of the car, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to hospital in a critical condition.

She sadly died in hospital on 23 March.

Police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
