Detectives from the Major Collision Investigation Unit are investigating after a woman died following in a collision in Mansfield this afternoon (14 September), Victoria Police say.
Investigators have been told a woman was travelling south on Mansfield – Whitfield Road at about 1.10pm. when her car was struck by another vehicle being driven by a 22-year-old man from Mansfield.
It is believed the man was travelling East on Dead Horse Lane and collided with the woman’s car as he passed through the intersection of Mansfield – Whitfield Road.
The woman, whose identity is yet to be confirmed, was the sole occupant of her car and died at the scene.
The man received non-life threatening injuries and has been taken to hospital.
No other people were injured in the collision.
The investigation remains ongoing.
