A woman has died in hospital following a crash in Sydney's south last week.
About 6.25pm on Sunday 21 April 2019, emergency services were called to the M5, between Belmore Road and King Georges Road, following reports a car crashed into a bus.
Police have been told a Mazda travelling east on the M5, crashed into the rear of a stationary bus in the breakdown area on the side of the road.
Two female occupants of the Mazda – aged 18 and 19 – became trapped for a short time before being released.
All four occupants of the Mazda, including a male front seat passenger and female rear passenger – aged 18 and 19 – were treated at the scene before the three women were taken to hospital in critical conditions, and the man serious but stable.
The driver of the bus was uninjured and there were no passengers on-board at the time.
On Sunday evening (28 April 2019), one of the car's occupants – a 19-year-old woman – died in Liverpool Hospital.
Inquiries into the circumstances of the crash are continuing under the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit.
