Woman hit by projectile while driving, SA

South Coast Police are investigating an incident where a woman was struck by a projectile while driving at Christie Downs last night, according to SA Police.

About 6.50pm on Satuday 16 July, the young woman was driving her car north on Dyson Road, Christies Downs, between Beach and Flaxmill Roads, when a projectile shattered the driver's window and struck her.

The woman went to the Noarlunga Hospital for an assessment of her injuries. It was then discovered that a pellet was lodged in her shoulder. She was transferred to the Flinders Medical Centre, where she will undergo surgery to remove the pellet.

Her injuries are not considered life-threatening and she is in a stable condition.
