Woman injured in dog attack in Tamworth

A woman has been seriously injured after being attacked by two dogs in the state’s north east this morning, NSW Police say.

About 6.30am (Saturday 22 December 2018), a 43-year-old woman was walking in a park between Anthony Road and Susanne Street, South Tamworth, when she was attacked by the dogs.

Members of the public assisted the injured woman and notified emergency services.

She was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene before being taken to Tamworth Base Hospital with significant facial injuries, puncture wounds to her arm and bruising.

Officers from Oxley Police District are investigating and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

The dogs were seized by council rangers.
