Woman Killed in Hunter Valley Motorcycle Crash

A woman has died following a single vehicle crash in the state's Hunter Valley yesterday.

Just after 10am (Sunday 26 July 2026), emergency services were called to Quince Tree Lane, Congewai, about 18km south of Cessnock, following reports a quad bike had rolled.

On arrival, officers attached to Hunter Valley Police District were told the rider – an 18-year-old man – was riding a quad bike before it had rolled – ejecting the passenger – an 18-year-old woman.

The woman was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene; however, she could not be revived.

The man was taken to Cessnock Hospital for a mandatory testing.

A crime scene was established and specialist officers from Crash Investigation Unit attended and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash and the woman's death.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
