Woman remains critical after head-on crash at Armidale

Crash investigators have commenced inquiries following a crash in Armidale yesterday that's left a woman with critical injuries.

About 10pm (Tuesday 18 February 2020), a black Ford Territory, being driven by a 40-year-old man and carrying a 35-year-old female passenger, was heading north on the New England Highway.

A BMW, being driven by a 54-year-old man was heading south on the same stretch of road when the two cars collided.

The female passenger of the Territory suffered two broken legs, a fractured wrist and internal bleeding. She was taken to Armidale Hospital and is expected to be flown to John Hunter Hospital later today.

Both drivers suffered relatively minor injuries and were taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

Inquiries have commenced by officers from the Northern Tablelands Crash Investigation Unit.
