Woman rescued - Blue Mountains, NSW

A woman is safe and well after being trapped on a cliff face for six hours, NSW Police say.

Just after 5.00pm today emergency services were notified that a 25-year-old woman's leg had been trapped in a rock crevasse.

Officers from Blue Mountains Police Rescue Squad attended and worked with NSW Ambulance paramedics to retrieve the woman.

About 11pm, the 25-year-old woman was retrieved safe and well. She received non-life threatening injuries during the incident. NSW Ambulance paramedics are treating her at the scene.

The woman was part of a guided expedition tour through the canyon.
