Woman robbed in Broadmeadows

Hume Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance after a woman was robbed in Broadmeadows last month, Victoria Police say.

Police have been told a 56-year-old Broadmeadows woman was set upon by three unknown women outside a shopping centre on Widford Street just before midnight on 20 November.

One of the women dragged the victim out of the driver’s seat of her car and onto the road, fracturing her left leg.

The offenders have demanded the victim hand over her car keys but they were unable to start her car.

The offenders left the scene with the victim’s handbag containing $5000, her mobile phone and bank card.

A witness to the incident has chased the offenders along Widford Street towards Nepean Street but they escaped.

The victim’s bank card was later used by two men at a convenience store in Glenroy about 12.30am.

Detectives have released images of the two men who may be able to assist with their enquiries.

The first man is perceived to be of Middle Eastern appearance, approximately 175cm tall, black hair moustache and beard and wearing a distinctive ‘Cross Hatch Series 55’ hoodie.

The second man is also perceived to be of Middle Eastern appearance, approximately 175cm tall, short black hair and wearing a white T-shirt and grey shorts.

Anyone with any information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
