Police are appealing for information following the discovery of a woman’s body found in the Parramatta River today, NSW Police say.
Police located the body near the Queen's Wharf Reserve at Parramatta about 2.15pm (Sunday 30 September 2018).
A crime scene has been established as police from Cumberland Police Area Command begin an investigation.
Officers attached to the Marine Area Command attended and recovered the woman’s body.
At this stage, the woman has not been formally identified, however, she is believed to be aged in her 70s.
The cause of the death is yet to be determined.
As inquiries continue into the circumstances surrounding the incident, anyone with information is urged to come forward.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
